Susan Woods Sinclair, M.S.
CEO/General Manager

Susan Sinclair joined Microcheck in 2006 as a partner with the founder, Mike Sinclair. She wears many hats for Microcheck; she serves as the organizations’s top managerial and financial accountant, the Marketing Director, and as the Director of Information Technology. Susan brings with her a diverse background. She has worked as an adjunct Professor at the University of Vermont, a Software Engineer at Simmonds Precision, a Principal Engineer at Digital Equipment Corporation, and a project leader for Competitive Computing. Susan holds a B.S. from the State University of New York at Oswego and a Master of Science Degree in Computer Science from the University of Vermont.

Michael G. Sinclair, Ph.D.
Laboratory Director/Partner

Dr. Michael Sinclair is the Laboratory Director,co-owner, and founder of Microcheck. Mike has served as Microcheck’s mycologist since founding the company in 1988. These years of experience have earned him a reputation as renowned in this field. Prior to founding Microcheck, Sinclair spent 19 years as a university professor teaching biology, microbiology, cell biology, and biochemistry. In the last three of those years he also served as a microbiological consultant to the beer industry and continues to do so. He holds a B.A. in Zoology from Swarthmore College, an M.S. in Plant Pathology and Ph.D. in Plant Science from the University of Delaware. He also completed a year of postdoctoral work at Delaware studying plant defense mechanisms. Currently Dr. Sinclair and Applied Biosystems are collaborating on expanding the fungal database for the MicroSEQ ID system, as was announced in April of 2009.
